POLICE enquiries are ongoing after a driver is believed to have fled the scene of a collision in which his five passengers were injured.
On Sunday at 7.41pm, officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision on Billingley Lane in Middlecliffe, involving a silver Mercedes C220 AMG Sport.
It is believed that the driver of the car lost control and left the road before coming to rest in a nearby field.
Five occupants of the car, aged 23, 33, 34, 41 and 41, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It is believed the 27-year-old driver of the car fled the scene prior to emergency services’ arrival. He was arrested on Monday on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has since been released on police bail.
