A LOCAL councillor joined volunteers to clean up his ward last week.

Coun James Higginbottom took part in the session on Monday.

He said: “I was out this morning at a community clean up event with the South Area caretaker team and local volunteers on Wells Lane, Bondfield Crescent and Wooley Avenue.

"We are working together for a cleaner, greener Wombwell.”
