A WOMAN has helped raise £2,000 for a cancer charity with help from a Worsbrough pub.

Rosemarie Blackburn lost her mum, Ann Musgrave, in December 2010, and her dad, Gerald Musgrave, last month.

She decided to put the money from both their funerals - £1,255 - and donate it all to Macmillan.

Then the owners of the Dale Tavern, Donna and Ged Henderson, had a 'Play Your Cards Right' night followed by a charity night last month, taking the total to £1,800.

Rosemarie and her brother, Derek Musgrave, then donated an extra £200, to get the total up to £2,000.

She said she wanted to donate the money to a cause close to her heart, and although her parents didn't die from cancer, she was keen to raise money for them.

"While I looked after my dad at home for six months, I was told I could have support from the Macmillan nurses," said Rosemarie. "Macmillan do a great job and I know my mum and dad would be happy that I have donated the money to them."
