FLURRIES of snow caused chaos in Barnsley this morning.

The snow - predicted overnight by forecasters - had at first appeared to be short-lived and hit-and-miss throughout the area.

However, with yesterday's rain and sub-zero overnight temperatures, the added snow made for difficult driving conditions.

Although most train and bus services weren't affected badly, the morning commuters found the roads to be treacherous and many fell victim to the icy conditions.

At the minute, there are two main things to avoid:

- Slow traffic on A628 West Way in Barnsley at Alhambra Roundabout, because of a crashed/broken down lorry on the roundabout.

- A633 Rotherham Road in Barnsley closed and slow traffic in both directions at the Cliffe Lane junction.

WABers, we're constantly monitoring the road situation, but if you're aware of anything that might affect other road-users on the website, why not post them below?

Lots of side streets are very slippy, so go careful.
