BARNSLEY College recently installed solar panels on two of its main town centre sites - drastically reducing their CO2 emissions.
Corina Billing, building surveyor at Barnsley College said: “The panels will make a big difference to our carbon emissions and in the long term are a much more cost effective and sustainable way to power our buildings.”
Being a renewable source, it's anticipated that the cost of the installation will be paid back over the next 12 years.
Corina added: “We are always looking at ways we can help promote the green agenda in college. As well as looking at our buildings we have also organised lots of energy saving activities for Go Green Week starting on 4 February.”
