A DARFIELD girl who made headlines for her show-jumping chickens has beaten 3,000 entries to win a quirky photography competition.

Nicola Hughes, 16, of Barnsley Road, Darfield, came top in the 'quirky countryside' category of Farmer's Weekly magazine's 2012 photography competition.

The winning entry was a photograph of her 12-year-old collie, Jack, with his nose to the camera wearing a Father Christmas hat.

Nicola, a photography student at Rotherham College, runs her own photography company - Niki H Photography - and has, among other things, jobs at Penistone Show and Crufts booked in for 2013.

Nicola's other hobby is training chickens - she was featured on We Are Barnsley last year.
