BARNSLEY residents could save hundreds of pounds on their gas and electricity bills.
The YORswitch Cheaper Energy Together scheme aims to gather the interest of residents who want to pay less for their energy by switching energy tariffs and suppliers.
Barnsley Council and Berneslai Homes are working alongside other Yorkshire areas to pool together as many residents as possible who want to find lower energy prices.
Helen Jaggar, from Berneslai Homes, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for local residents to cut their energy bills during these tough economic times.”
On 9 April, energy companies big and small will offer their cheapest energy deal based on the number of households that have registered their interest.
Registration commences on 15th February 2013.
