A POOL and snooker club which closed its doors only hours after taking annual subscriptions from members has reopened in the town centre.
Riley's club, on Peel Street, closed last month after the operator enterted administration for the second time in three years.
The new owner, Adrian Bullock, is going to honour any memberships taken out over the past 12 months.
Adrian, a former Riley's employee himself, said: "I believe it is wrong that people paid an annual membership fee and then suddenly lost their money - that is why I am going to honour all valid memberships no matter what the cost."
George Vetters, who was manager at Riley's until its sudden shutdown, is now employed to run the newly named Escape Pool Bar.
Mr Vetters is now appealing for all the 3,000 former members to get in touch so their membership can be honoured.
George said: "Completely out of the blue the doors were locked and we were all told the business was shut down and we were all out of a job.
"To make matters worse all the membership data has been wiped so we have no way of contacting all the members to tell them what has happened since."
Former members should contact 779347.
