THE VICTIM of a serious assault in Wombwell is said to be recovering in hospital after he was found on Thursday morning.
Police have released a statement today (Friday, September 23) saying the man injured is improving in hospital. A spokesman added: "His condition is now classed as serious rather than life-threatening."
A local man has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault which occured on Wombwell High Street.
The road was closed as detectives working on the investigation gathered evidence.
The victim - a Wombwell man in his early 40s - sustained head injuries from the assault and is recovering at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.
