A BARNSLEY man has been sentenced to three years in prison after a cannibis cultivation set up was found in a Penistone home.

Christopher Butcher, 32, was subject of a police investigation which revealed every room of the house on Sheffield Road had cannabis plants growing in them - a total of 82 plants with a street value of £32,000.

Christopher Butcher was arrested for production of cannabis with the intent to supply and money laundering.

Police Constable Nichola Garbett said: "We want to send out a positive message that South Yorkshire Police will not tolerate people who cultivate, sell or use illegal drugs and all information passed to the police about such activities will be taken seriously and will result in positive action."
