FUNDRAISERS from Barnsley Hospice have picked their very own Christmas trees that will be used in an upcoming event.

Helen Macintosh and Barbara Cronin visited Horsfield nursery in Silkstone to select four free Nordmann Christmas trees for the Light up a Life service at St Mary's Parish Church, Barnsley, on December 2 and at the hospice services on December 4 and 11.

The Light a life appeal raises around £35,000 a year for the hospice.

Emma Horsfield said: "It was a pleasure to offer four of our trees to the hospice and we hope they bring smiles and fond memories to many people as well as helping raise much needed funds."

Helen Macintosh added: "We had great fun choosing our special trees and hopefully they will bring much pleasure to many more people."
