A HISTORIC Barnsley pub building has collapsed after a serious fire that was started deliberately, according to fire crews.
Over 30 firefighters spent the night battling a large fire at the Farm Road Club in Kendray, after crews from Barnsley, Tankersley, Cudworth and Dearne were called at around 12.30am on Tuesday.
They were there almost 12 hours, fighting the fire and dampening down after much of the building collapsed.
A spokesman said: "At least half of the building has collapsed due to structural damage caused by the fire.
"We believe the fire was started deliberately."
