LOYAL staff who have clocked up almost 150 years of service between them have been praised by bus company Stagecoach.

Daniel Lawrence, from the Barnsley depot, is retiring after completing 43 years of service.

Also retiring is Brian Jukes, who has been with the company for 39 years, and David Knaggs, who has completed 29 years of service.

Managing director Paul Lynch said: “We would like to thank all four employees for their many years of hard work and wish them a very happy and enjoyable retirement.”

Fred Wood, a retired driver, has also been presented with a special award for 40 years of safe driving.

Paul added: “It gives me a great sense of pride to be celebrating the loyalty and achievements of staff who have dedicated their careers to the company.

“Having staff who have completed 30 and 40 years of service demonstrates outstanding commitment to the industry and our passengers. They are great models for our young apprentices who are just starting out in their careers.”
