YORKSHIRE'S air ambulance landed in Barnsley to pick up a consultant that was urgently needed to care for a sick child.
The chopper landed off Dodworth Road at about 10.30am on Thursday morning to collect a member of the Embrace team and fly them to Scarborough Hospital - where they were needed for an emergency.
A spokesman said: "We work with the Embrace team to take their specialists to very sick children who need their skills across the region."
The Embrace team is based in Barnsley and is the region’s ambulance service headquarters for sick children.
The team can be called into action for anything from extremely premature babies to transporting a critically ill child to the correct hospital.
