A WOMAN will be going on trial for failing to complete a breath test after claiming she was subject to ‘violent force’ from police officers.
Amie Lloyd, of Verona Rise, Darfield, was said to have been involved in an altercation outside a pub in Barnsley in June this year and got into her car.
However, when asked by police to complete a breath test, she failed to do so.
The case, which was heard in Barnsley Magistrates Court, saw Lloyd plead not guilty to the charges and it was heard that she went into her car ‘to protect herself’ when there was a pub brawl.
A statement read out in court this week heard Lloyd was yet to put in a complaint to the police but said there was ‘violence and abuse towards her by officers’ and claimed there were ‘bruises on her arms’.
It was also heard the 27-year-old has been receiving anxiety medication and has been having panic attacks since the incident.
The case is set to go before Barnsley Magistrates on November 21, where there will be CCTV shown and medical evidence given.
