Former Reds Assistant Manager Talks About Club Power Struggles

Wednesday February 29 2012

Former Reds assistant manager Rick Holden joins Barnsley Chronicle reporter Doug O'Kane and We Are Barnsley's Matthew Murray about his book and his memories of being involved in the club.

He describes his first visits to Barnsley as total chaos and talks about the power struggle that went on. He recalls Peter Ridsdale's 'chopper' incident when he got drenched after a practical joke from the lads who rigged a water bucket above his hotel room door.

He talks about how he got 'ripped off' from a publishing company and wrote a second autobiography about his time at Barnsley which he describes as 'a wonderful two and a half years of his life.'
