I know it's not the best for a lot of folk but this rain reminds me of a special time in my life, 5 year ago just after the last bad floods my beautiful daughter Colby was born so to show her what it was like the year she was born was brilliant. But my heart goes out to everyone effected today especially those at Aldham Crescent area

The river at Oxspring looks like the Thames! At this time of year you can normally walk across a few stones from one side to the other and not even get your feet wet.

We all moaned that the rain was bad on Friday but I hadn't realised just how bad. Hope no one was too badly effected, pictures show alot of rural areas.

Blimey, I thought Barnsley got off light, never heard of it on the news. I too hope nobody had been effected too badly. Our lawn is still soggy, so I can say we were lucky.

My heart goes out to people affected by the floods. I used to live across the road from Aldham Crescent at Low Laithes Farm. I've seen floods under Aldham Bridge before, but never the Crescent itself.
So much for the stand pipes mentioned earlier in the year because of the dry winter and spring!

although some pictures of the floods are quite picturesque, and some 'puddles' are fun to play in... I cant help but feel sorry for all those whos homes have been flooded, it must be devastating for them. Lost or ruined belongings, then all the mess to clean up afterwards. I do hope the insurance companies pay up n dont act like A-holes!
