Parking in Barnsley

Wednesday November 15 2017

ALMOST £50,000 was raised in parking fines by the council in just three months. This week's WAB Debate asks: Is there sufficient parking in the town centre - and is it too expensive?

A Freedom of Information request submitted to the council shows 2,053 parking contravention notices were issued between July and September, generating £49,501 in revenue for the local authority.

It also revealed Eldon Street in Barnsley as the location where the most fines were issued during that time period.

Do you think there's enough parking available in the town centre? Is it too expensive? Or is it fairly priced? Leave your comments below.
