Monday July 9 2012
A TOWN centre shoe shop was cordoned off by police yesterday after a sexual assault was reported.
Police and scenes of crimes officers flocked to the scene at Wyndsors Shoes on Doncaster Road on the early hours of Sunday morning (July 8.)
Many people came on to the We Are Barnsley facebook page, reporting that staff had been told not to go in to work while the investigation was underway.
A police spokesman said: "The cordon was later removed as the allegation proved to be false."
