POLICE are urging owners and drivers of Ford Transit vans to be vigilant after a number of reported thefts involving the vehicles, where thieves have managed to gain entry without forcing the locks.

There have been a number of reports to police of thefts from Transit vans, but on each occasion no damage was done and it is believed the offenders are using a device to bypass the lock system.

Crime Reduction Officer Dene Tinker said: “We are aware of this method and are working hard to investigate these offences and find those responsible.
“It’s vital that Transit owners and drivers are vigilant. We know it may take time at the end of a long day’s work to remove valuables but we do recommend you do so, especially overnight.“

If you hold any information about those who may be responsible for thefts from Transit vans, or wish to report any suspicious behaviour or activity, please call 101.

Pretty sure the police should be placing bate vans with traceable tools / equipment in high frequency targeted zones and either putting the offenders in prison or stringing them up from lampposts as a deterrent to other drains on society that the people who loose their tools lose their livelihoods.

Mr reality check stole his alias off here from someone else who called themselves that and used to post well thought out comments. One of the handful of people who peddle stupidity on here and ruin it.
