Who In Barnsley Could Carry The Olympic Torch?

Wednesday May 25 2011

Barnsley's Newham Partnership is campaigning to get the Olympic torch to come to Barnsley - and it wants locals to nominate torch-bearers.
The torch will be stopping in Leeds and Sheffield on June 24 and 25 and Barnsley is hoping that - thanks to the unique partnership with Newham - the torch will pass through town.
It is now encouraging locals to nominate people to become one of the 8000 Torchbearers who will each carry the Torch for one mile of its route around the UK.
So who would you nominate - for help in filling out the forms, contact Oliver Coppard at the Barnsley Newham Partnership.
