Friend Continues Charity Bike Journey Alone

Friday June 15 2012

A BARNSLEY man is continuing a nine day bike ride alone to raise money for Ebonie Webb - after his friend had to pull out through injury.

Andy Medlam, 37, of Barnsley, and Keiron Armstrong, 38, of Wilthorpe, trained for the cycle challenge from Land's End to John O'Groats.

But Andy managed 300 miles and sustained a serious injury which meant he couldn't go on - Keiron decided to press on alone to raise money to send Barnsley lass Ebonie Webb to America for lifesaving treatment.

Kieron is cycling, totally unaided, riding for ten-plus hours a day.

Family friend Julie Medlam said: "It has took them months to get ready for this, plus it has cost them a fortune for all the equipment, (which they have obviously paid for themselves)

"They are extremely upset about what has happened and I think it would be really good for Keiron’s morale if he knew Barnsley was supporting him, now he is alone."

Good Luck Keiron. It's an amazing challenge. Barnsley is behind you all the way and well done for all your efforts so far. Keep up the good work x
