Police Investigate Tune Street Burglary

Sunday June 3 2012

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to help with an investigation into an attempted burglary at a property in Wombwell.

Crime scene teams and officers cordoned off the property on Tune Street while they launched an investigation on June 1.

A spokesman said: "Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish
the circumstances and enquiries are ongoing. As it is early in the investigation we can't say much more until circumstances are established."

There had been much speculation that someone had died in relation to this incident - but police have confirmed this is not the case.

Anyone with any information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 50 of 1 June 2012.

Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Do the police think people are stupid?? As  the other poster said, why would the property still be surrounded by police?? why has someone left a bunch of flowers outside?? and why are the windows now sealed off?? This is a coverup if ever I saw one!

If it was an attempted burglary, why were 3 vans including Soco, police outside 24 hrs a day Properties boarded up.Tune St and Copeland rd.If i were to report an attempted burglary i would be lucky to get a visit from a single copper.I would have been given a crime number.
