BOMB disposal experts have searched a property in Worsbrough today (Friday) and removed a number of items, We Are Barnsley can reveal.
South Yorkshire Police's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was sent to check a property at Broomroyd, Worsbrough earlier today. It follows an arrest on the street yesterday where a man in his 60s was taken into custody on suspicion of having a firearm.
A police spokesman said: "As a matter of precaution the EOD have attended an address to remove a number of items that are believed to belong to the individual. Police want to reassure local people that there is no need to be alarmed, there is no concern for public safety. "
