Kendray dog owner fined for fouling incident

Friday May 8 2015

A BARNSLEY man has been named and shamed and fined over £200 for failing to pick up his dog's mess.

David Tasker of Reginald Road, Kendray, was issued with a £50 fixed penalty notice from the borough's dog warden but failed to pay.

The matter was sent to Barnsley Magistrates Court on 20 April, where the penalty was increased to £100 plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Mr Tasker also had to pay costs of £120.

At the end of every dog is a person holding the lead who are either too idle or arrogant to pick up after the dog. 150 bags for a quid and copious amounts of dog bins in the area, it ain,t hard!

I don't agree with some comments on here. 1 for months i have been pestering bmbc to install 2 bins one on the entrance to the field at the rear of hoyland ambulance station and one on wombwell at platts common at the top of woodlands view snicket, so i feel its wrong for them to fine anybody where theres no bins. As i have found out people are willing to pick it up as there is bags of the stuff piling up at the side of the ambulance station and on a fence post on the field itself, if bmbc installed bins when asked there wouldn't be a problem but they'll come after you for money, and where does that fine money go? into their coffers for xmas parties and holidays abroad. As far as i'm concerned bmbc can shove it where the sun don't shine cos they are are arrogant ignorant and incompitent and that is one of the reasons i voted against labour in barnsley, as far as i'm concerned its them that should be getting fined NOT US.
