Free Royal Tea Party Invite Issued

A ROYAL themed jubilee tea party is being held in the town hall with invites issued to anyone celebrating their 60th birthday or wedding anniversary this year.

The Mayor Elect of Barnsley, Dorothy Higginbottom, will hold the jubilee tea party in the Town Hall on June 14 and she is inviting anyone who celebrated their own landmark occasion in the same year The Queen celebrates six decades to on the throne.

She said: “We want to give people a day to remember, where they can share some of their favourite memories of the last sixty years."

Those wishing to attend are asked to contact Liz Wright in the Mayor’s Office on 01226 773804 or email mayorsoffice@barnsley.gov.uk by Friday, 1 June.

When the Queen celebrated her Silver Jubilee The Albert Club in Cudworth put on an all-day
party for the kids, there was something going on for weeks afterwards.

Today you wouldn't even know there was a reason to celebrate. Where has our community spirit gone?

What is it abart free tea.  The never think abart dishin some free beer art, dunt the know beer is the English drink, teas what the sup in China an India and such like.. What abart us Tykes we get thursty anawl yer know.???
