Friday February 13 2015

THOUSANDS of pounds has been raised to help a grieving daughter bring her dad's body home after he died while on holiday.

Steve Barry, 50, died on February 2 while on holiday in Benidorm and didn't have travel insurance.

As his next of kin, daughter Katie Exley, of Athersley North, is responsible for bringing him home/

But the 24-year-old, who works at Quest Hair and Beauty at the Metrodome, is facing a desperate struggle to meet the £6,000 cost.

To help raise the cash two of her customers, Nicola Hamblett and Charlotte Wood, have set up a GoFundMe page.

Over £2,500 had been raised in the first day of the page going live, and now almost £4,500 has been generated.

Katie said: "The two lovely ladies Nicola Hamblett and Charlotte Wood set up the page for me as I was hitting a brick wall with every person I rung.

"I want to say a massive, massive thank you to every single person that has shared, liked and donated to this, it has definitely restored my faith in human kind."
