Cordon Put In Place In Town Centre

A CORDON has been put in place in Barnsley town centre after a reported assault.

Police are currently investigating the incident that is alleged to have taken place at around 2am on November 30 in the Eldon Street area.

A police spokesperson said: "A cordon is in place while police carry out their enquiries. Specialist officers are providing support to the victim and the investigation is ongoing."

Was this cordon on the gennel beside where the old santander was, near the open market entrance? The gennel/road with the fish and chip restaurant and sewing shop.

It is called Burlington Arcade. No idea why it is called an arcade, certainly not my idea of one. It was still there yesterday. No idea if it is still there today, or any more news about what actually happened.
