Witness Appeal For Person Who Left Car Smash Scene

POLICE have made an urgent call for help in tracing a person who left the scene of a road accident in Cawthorne where a woman was seriously injured.

The crash - which happened on the A635 in Cawthorne at around 7.30am (Tuesday, 17 April) at the junction with Silkstone Lane - involved a silver Toyota Yaris and a silver Ford Focus.

The female driver of the Yaris sustained serious injuries and has been taken to the Northern General Hospital. The male driver of the Focus received minor injuries and was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital.

It is believed there was a witness to the incident who left the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 108 of today, Tuesday 17 April.
