A MEMORIAL day for a Barnsley teenager who died of a brain tumour raised almost £1,000.

The Brierley Park fundraiser - in aid of Leah Bella Pearson - raised £924.87 for Weston Park Teenage Cancer Unit.

Leah, who died of a brain tumour in June last year, had received care on the unit.

Nigel Pearson, Leah's dad, said: "We had a fantastic day and it brought everyone together - the sun was shining all day."

Ex-Red Bobby Hassell also made a star appearance and had photos taken with some of Leah's family and friends.

Funds will also be put towards the installation of a camera in Grimethorpe cemetery.
