Man Set For Sentencing After £30,000 Cannabis Cultivation

Tuesday September 9 2014

A BARNSLEY man is set to appear in court - after being caught growing £30,000 worth of cannabis.

Michael Lee Cooper, 41, of Tudor Street, Thurnscoe, was cultivating 16 plants in two rooms, said Jayne Ormrod, prosecuting, at Barnsley Magistrates' Court.

Eric Bray, defending, said Cooper realised he was in big trouble.

Cooper, who admitted cannabis production, will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on September 24.

He was granted unconditional bail.

Totally agree - 16 plants is hardly a huge crop. He could have been growing it for medicinal reasons.
