Delay For Town Centre Seating Plan

Friday August 22 2014

PLANS to install tables and chairs in the town centre in time for the bank holiday weekend have been postponed - due to a delivery delay.

The sets - which were due to be delivered and fitted by Saturday - now won't be here for at least another week.

Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: "It's very disappointing news, but it's something that is sadly out of our control.

Possibly NOT a bad thing, since they will probably attract even MORE wino's, then the "Mushroom" did?

They are delayed not cancelled! What's so fantastic about having winos standing around as against sitting?

I dont see the point anyway ? Just a waste of money .& time .. Who do they think's coming to Barnsley on Sunday & Monday that warrants extra seating ?

Nowt surprises me-its like everything else in Barnsley-it gets put on hold, delayed or cancelled. I agree with @thingybobby, we dont need more druggies and winos hanging around. We see them sat on the wall outside the yorkshire bank all off their heads and gouching, it takes the p***.
