Barnsley To Host Its First Vintage Festival

BARNSLEY town centre will hold its first ever vintage festival on Saturday.

The day-long event, which runs from 10am until 9pm, will be hosted in The Arcade.

A street already known for its array of independent and unique stores, its Victorian roof and cobbled streets make it the perfect place for a vintage-themed festival.

Acorn Brewery will be giving away samples of their award-winning ales and Aroma will have some food offers available on their specials board, along with jugs of sangria and a tapas evening starting at 5pm.

Elsewhere, the town's new gourmet burger joint, The 8oz Burger Co, will be debuting its creations throughout the day.

Vintage vinyl will be available at Debut Records and there’s an opportunity to take part in a workshop to make period hair pieces at Arcadia.

Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: "Visitors can expect to see vintage fashion, traditional ice cream carts, cut-throat barbers, plus a few other surprises during the day."

Will you be heading down?
