Owners Appeal After Gorilla Ornament Is Stolen

Thursday July 17 2014

A FIBREGLASS gorilla who has lived in a front garden for over seven years has been stolen.

Bruce, who stands at three-and-a-half foot tall, had lived in Michelle Wood's front garden on Myrtle Road, Wombwell, until he was stolen last weekend.

Bruce was bought as a present by her son Carl, 30, who says Bruce has been a hit with local people.

Carl said: "I don't know why but I bought it as a present for my mum years ago.

"It's made of fibreglass so it's quite light but it's bulky and hard to carry.

"I can't believe it's been nicked. Children used to come and take pictures of it.

"I'd really like to get it back because my mum's very fond of it."

You can't have nothing these days. If it's not bolted to the ground, it'll go missing! Some people really do put society to shame.

It sounds like monkey business to me I wonder if the perpetrator used a monkey wrench to pry it free or did a drunk mistake it for there partner

Sure I've seen this Gorilla in The Butchers pub in Wombwell Town centre. He was having a few pints of Strongbow with the regulars.

Only reconized him because he's the one without a mobility scooter.
