Covert Cameras Set To Catch Fly-Tippers In The Act

Wednesday July 16 2014

TWO covert cameras will be set up to catch fly-tippers in a litter-strewn area in Barnsley.

Barnsley Council's enforcement team have acted in response to the ongoing problem around Beevor Street and Frederick Street in Goldthorpe.

Coun Ralph Sixsmith is vowing to get tougher and wants to name and shame those responsible.

He said: "It's the mentality of the people. The bubble has got to burst.

"We want them to know that they can't get away with it any longer. We want them written about."

The introduction of two specially-trained enforcement officers whose responsibilities will be dealing with all manner of anti-social behaviour have been approved and will be paid out of the ward budgets.

Councillor Sixsmith says name and shame the culprits. What a wally he must be if they had any shame they wouldn't do it and why do we need specially trained enforcement officers when litter dumping is obvious to all. I'm not expecting any improvements. Lets get local councillorsNoble,Sixsmith,Gardener & rest to do the work out of their pay instead of wasting their time in town hall

This area is rough and has the highest crime rates because it is an area of absentee landlords who let the roughest people live there courtesy of the state. There are some decent folks but really to sott out he problems the tenants need to be moved away and money needs spending on the housing stock. Only then will the rubbish abate and yhe antisocial problems.
