Police Appeal After Three-Car Collision

POLICE are appealing for information after a collision left seven people injured in Barnsley.

At around 4.10pm on July 11, it is reported that a silver Ford Focus was travelling along the A1695 Park Spring Road towards Grimethorpe when it was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Corsa and black Ford Ka.

Three people from the Focus sustained minor injuries - the 38-year-old male driver, a 23-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.

The 31-year-old woman driving the Ka sustained minor injuries.

Three people from the Corsa were also injured - the 28-year-old female driver and an 18-month-old child sustained minor injuries. A 55-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses to the collision should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 744 of July 11, 2014. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more major accidents on this road. People overtake on blind bends go past HGVs and expect the cars coming the other way to move out of the way. It needs policing more. Hope everyone involved makes a full recovery.

Its terrible the way people drive on there, especially asos staff when they finish at 11pm other night i witnessed some idiot in a red yaris overtake several cars then force his way inbetween cars to avoid going head on with a bus.. things like this are always happening on that road ive seen so many near misses on there at night, i drive a relatively sporty car and theres always somebody wanting to race in some old banger that wouldnt pass a mot, these are times where i believe police presence should be steppes up just to stop people being so careless its only a matter of time before somebody dies
