Questionnaire To Be Sent To Barnsley Residents

Thursday June 26 2014

YOUR views on Barnsley's roads and transport services will be compared with others across England thanks to a new survey.

Barnsley Council is one of 78 local authorities to sign up to a standardised survey that will ask members of the public the same questions.

The National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey, which is being run for the seventh year, enables local authorities to compare results, share in best practice and identify opportunities to work together in the future.

The questionnaire will be sent to a minimum of 3,300 Barnsley residents this month, followed by a reminder, with local and national results to be published in early October.

Since the survey is based on a sample, residents that receive a copy are being urged to take part.

Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: "Taking part in this survey is part of the council’s commitment to understanding and responding to the views of the public."

Oh dear, thats a good one. Hope the commitment to understanding and responding to the views of the public extends to the rubbish collections. It hasnt so far. In fact why not do a survey on that?

I presume the 3,300 people these questionaires will be sent to will be in village locations where the roads are in perfect condition.

Mr Miller does what he wants, not what the public wants who he represents.Same goes for Mr Houghton and his cronies.Time for change.

Dan the meaning behind my comment is there are only 3,300 people getting this survey so it wont be the majority of us it will be specific to areas that have good roads so we cant tell the real story of what a plank he really is. The questionaires are going out after the roads have been done in certain areas due to the tour de france.

For a start Mr Miller could you please get rid of the Velocity machine because its crap, what a waste of taxpayers money that was. Can you also stand down as you are a waste of space.

Thank you.

They have to 'send a survey' costing more stupid money - you mean to tell me they don't drive on the roads themselves - 'understanding and responding to the views of the public' - DOH!!

Have to agree with j, surely they drive on the same roads as the rest of us.
I drive for a living around the Barnsley area and have to look at people in disbelief when they ask for me to avoid potholes to give them a smoother journey.
