A MOTHER and daughter have finally got justice - 20 years after they were forced to flee Grimethorpe because locals didn't believe the ten-year-old had been raped by her babysitter.

Paedophile Jason Woodhall, 38, of Lilydene Avenue, was jailed for 12 years at Sheffield Crown Court on March 31 for two counts of rape, and four of indecent assault.

Woodhall, who conducted his crimes in 1993 as an 18-year-old, befriended and offered to babysit the girl. He groomed her until she believed she was his girlfriend. She was nine when the abuse began.

The family now lives in the north of England having fled Grimethorpe following months of torment at the hands of a gang of teenagers sympathetic to Woodhall, who chased and beat the little girl.

Woodhall, who denied all the charges, was found guilty and Judge Julian Goose QC sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
