A SALON has urged people to donate hair to make a wigs for children who have lost theirs to chemotherapy.

Adele Jones Hairdressing, on Eldon Street North, would like people to get in touch now ready for the 'big chop', in June.

Stylist Leah Roebuck, 17, of Gledhill Avenue, Penistone, said: "It's our tenth anniversary this summer and we decided to hold a big charity event to make it special, and we've decided to raise money for the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs to children with cancer."

The volunteers will have their hair cut at the main event on June 16.

My daughter who is now 13 wanted to cut all her hair off last year for little pippa trust on her charity dance show but her head teacher told her that it was inappropriate and they would not support her. Also stated that there would be consequences! I find this disgusting, my daughter was very brave to want to do this and what an amazing thing to do for children. She has a heart of gold but she was absolutely gutted when school said they would not support her. Gud luck with the charity and to anyone supporting the event. I would have my hair cut but I have very short hair anyway. I hope you raise lots! X
