More Photography Opportunities At Nature Reserve

Wednesday April 23 2014

A BARNSLEY nature reserve has been improving its facilities for visiting photographers.

Dedicated spaces at popular vantage points on the 250-acre RSPB Old Moor site have been created, as well as the installation of a new hide which has been sunken into the ground to give photographers an eye-level view.

Site manager Matthew Capper said: "I've been keen to try to cater for this audience and so we have been working on a package of measures that I hope will cater for every level of interest and ability."

I'm not into twitching, but I've had many afternoons with the grandsons there. Pond dipping just recently, the staff were fantastic, enthusiastic, very knowledgeable and very friendly. The place is a pleasure to walk round, clean, peacefull and my two grandkids love it. The Tuesday tales are fab too,and the cafe is lovely, especially the cakes and friendly staff. Kids playground is brill too. As you can see, I can't speak highly enough of the place. Its peace on earth right on our doorstep. Thank you to all involved, and give each one of you a pat on the back.
