People Urged To Take Part In 'Silly Socks' Campaign

Thursday March 20 2014

We Are Barnsley We Are Barnsley

BARNSLEY people are being encouraged to take part in the 'Silly Socks' campaign to mark World Down's Syndrome Day.

The Barnsley Down's Syndrome Forum is asking people to take part in the celebrations by wearing bright, colourful, mismatched socks tomorrow.

The theme of the day is keeping healthy through good exercise and healthy eating.

A letter has been circulated to all GPs recommending annual health checks for adults with Down's Syndrome and a free health booklet is now available.

Contact the forum on 07407699174.

If people wear silly socks, your friends and family ask why so you tell them some of them will wear silly socks and word spreads. This will promote healthy eating and exercise and hopefully raise some money for down syndrome charity's
