Cat Purring Again After Being Shot Four Times

Thursday March 6 2014

Tigger Tigger

A FAMILY'S cat who miraculously survived after being shot four times is now back at home after recovering from his operation.

Owner Sarah Taylor, of Reginald Road, Kendray, got in touch to tell us that three-year-old Tigger is on the mend after his terrifying ordeal last Saturday night.

Tigger, who was found 'covered in blood' in the garden by Sarah's mum, Amanda, was rushed to emergency vets and his chances of recovery looked slim.

The vet - who told Sarah that her pet had been shot by what was most likely an air rifle at close range - operated on Tigger and allowed him to return home.

"He's doing brilliant," Sarah said. "He had stopped eating so they thought he might recover quicker at home. He's eaten since we brought him back and used his litter tray which he wasn't doing there.

"He's looking bright and purring again."

Such good news and so glad he's on the mend (after the kitten-in-the-microwave horror story). Some nasty pieces of callous humanity still exist in Barnsley however.

So glad to hear that Tigger is on the mend. Do you know if the police have made any progress with this incident? It's scary to think that these people/person is still on the streets.

As sarahs mum it was hard for me to find tigger in such a bad state but to have my daughter who has had him from the second he was born see him was horrific then for her 3 year old who tigger sleeps with not have him with him at night well all i can say is the person who did this should spend a day with them to see what effect their callous actions have done and also not reported was the fact he also has a dislocated back leg and infections caused by the shots the pdsa have been amzing and anyone who can please donate old towels sheets and blankets to them cash if you can they do a fantastic job and dont get enough praise
