Thousands To Be Spent Improving Kids' Play Area

MORE than £60,000 will be spent improving a play area in Kendray.

The Leslie Road play area will be refurbished using £62,910 which was set aside by a housing developer to improve open spaces in the area.

The package of works include replacing the existing safety surfacing with turf and grass matting, replacing, repairing and repainting existing play equipment, replacing gates, seats, signage and the addition of a litter bin.

Bananas - Read the article - it tells you where the money is coming from. These monies are predetermined at planning stage and give the council some scope as to what they can spend the money on but not a lot. Are you suggesting that the kids in Kendray don't deserve improved play areas, sorry swings!!

The money is allocated to the area where the housing development is proposed, so yeah it's big of you to admit your mistake and I'm glad you think its a lovely idea, I'm sure the kids in Kendray will appreciate it too.

Begs the question why the council can't afford to replace the slide stolen from the play area at Hoyle Mill? And it is the councils decision what they spend or make cuts on. They are allocated the money and they make the choices, so can't blame the government as far as Barnsley council are concerned!
