A BARNSLEY teenager will host a charity gig to raise money in memory of her grandmother.

Courtney McKinney, 16, has organised an event at Stereo Bar, from 1 to 7pm on Saturday to raise cash for Barnsley Hospice.

The money will be in memory of Pauline McKinney, died six years ago as she was waiting to go into the hospice.

Courtney said: "Finding out that my granny was going to the hospice the day she died made me more determined to organise the gig.

"Me and my granny were very close and I wanted to do her proud."

Local bands and singers performing include Clean Cut, a young alternative rock band; Lee Bailey, a young acoustic singer; indie/rock band Flaw13 will be performing an acoustic chart cover, and female fronted band, Razor Tone.

Very proud of Courtney. It takes a lot of work, time and effort to put on a full day gig.
Good luck to her.

Well done Courtney, hope you raised lots of money for Barnsley Hospice. A great opportunity for some of the younger bands to showcase their talents.
