A NEW market, better car parking and a new shopping area has been announced for Hoyland.

Developers Resilienti have revealed the plans for the town centre redevelopment which would bring more jobs.

Michael Dugher, MP for Barnsley East, said:  "The town centre is already much improved, but I want to see further regeneration. If we are to safeguard our local shops - which we must - then we need to keep making further improvements to the town centre.

"Better parking options and a more attractive market for our stall holders will rejuvenate the area."

Barnsley Council has said it will officially announce new plans to rejuvenate Hoyland at the end of March.
