Tuesday February 25 2014

Chambers Chambers

A POPULAR town centre pub has reopened after undergoing an £80,000 refurbishment.

Chambers - the converted former bank on Peel Square - is owned by Heineken's pub business, Star Pubs and Bars, and leased by local man Danny Stuart.

A gourmet coffee service is being introduced and a DJ booth installed, as well as a 25 per cent increase in the bar area's space.

I really hope it looks different i saw them outting new signs up. Hope most of the expenditure has not been made externally. The toilets are long kverdue a re furb. I remember yrs ago when the tut n shive was done up. Apparantly it cos 2 million ???? Which was very questionable. It looked like a group of 5 year olds had been let loose to do what they wanted with a paint brush etc.

Think its a fair comment about the druggies and the ass holes it does get loads of each . Went in a couple of years ago sat on chair and a broken syringe was sticking out never sat down again in their . But let's face it that could happen in any pub . I look forward to seeing it

I'm signing on next Tuesday at the Job Centre so it's quite handy to pop in afterwards, have a skinful and spend my hard earned cash!!

Think people need to go and see for themselves! It looks lovely inside! But then again barnsley people have nothing nice to say!

It's not just had a lick of paint!
All new bar, dj box, floor, signage, pool table, furniture, toilets... That r not quite finished. New uniforms, full staff training.
I could go on. Brewerys don't throw money into shit holes .

Barnsley has gone down hill massively on a night time. Full of druggies & pubs are all filthy! Used to be such a good night. Hope the other pubs follow suit & buck up their ideas.

.....and at 230 calories a pint, I'm sure it will help keep 70% of all adults in Barnsley fat!

Sorry, couldn't help it. WAB reports serious concerns about health in local people, then hours later celebrates other reasons why such problems exist.

Great staff and good venue..
you have to remember that nearly every pub in town is bad at the moment for drugs and doleys is that a single venues fault no. Cant see why Barnsley people would slate something that's trying to improve town and keep the publicans and night life in Barnsley... Look at how many doors are closing. Would be nice for people to get behind local community and support chambers is one of the few pubs that get involved in local events and charity's. Bit disheartening barnlsey people just pull down there own town.
