Pressure All On Rivals In South Yorkshire Derby

DANNY Wilson insists the pressure will be on his former club Sheffield Wednesday in tomorrow’s South Yorkshire showdown.

Wednesday - on a nine-match unbeaten run - will head into the derby confident in the knowledge that Barnsley have won just once in 15 attempts at Hillsborough.

The Oakwell boss is currently awaiting his first away victory in his second spell managing the club.

Wilson, whose side are three places and six points behind the Owls, said: "The pressure to win at home will be just a little bit more because it’s a derby game."

In transfer news, goalkeeper Iain Turner has joined Barnsley on a deal until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old was a free agent and had been on trial with the Reds for the past two weeks.

Iain said: "I've been out injured for the last couple of seasons, only recently I've got myself back fit.

"Luke's number one for a reason: he's a very, very good goalkeeper. Every team needs a few keepers to push each other and I'm here to push Luke on.

"Hopefully - if I get a chance - I'll show what I can do as well."

Turner began his career with Stirling Albion before securing a move to Everton in 2003 and spent nine years at Goodison Park, turning out for nine different clubs out on loan.

Former Doncaster Rovers midfielder Martin Woods is also training with Barnsley after recently leaving Rovers following a short second stint with the club.
