Mayor's Parade 2013 Mayor's Parade 2013

THE Mayor's Parade is making an early appearance this summer and will celebrate the Tour de France's Grand Départ.

Taking place on Saturday, June 14 at 11.30am, the parade will be inspired by all things French - with a Barnsley twist.

Coun Tim Shepherd, who will be Mayor of Barnsley when the parade takes place, said: "It's amazing that we're going to be a part of the world's biggest sporting event and definitely cause for celebration.

"The parade is a great way to promote your group, organisation or business and I can’t wait to see what people come up with as themes."

Parade participation is open to all and is free to enter.

If they do have THE 1, it should be sold off, it would make a fortune for the council coffers (or pockets) depending on your PoV

Are you a professional registration plate valuer? You realise it is pretty much worthless! the plate would probably bring in maximum the equivalent 2 household's full Council Tax bill - which in the grand scheme of things is pitance!

To be honest I imagine the number plates are worth an awful lot given that THE 911 is up for sale at £50k! And selling them would save the cost of transferring them from vehicle to vehicle. So a lot more that my £1600 council tax a year! Probable more than my entire street!

Don't forget THE 2 as well.

Do I take it that the main focus of the parade will be in the area between the town hall and greggs again? Ignoring all of the businesses at the top of town
