Barnsley Lass In Miss South Yorkshire Final

Friday January 24 2014

A BARNSLEY lass has made it to the finals of the Miss South Yorkshire beauty competition!

Stairfoot's Hollie-Jane Woodhouse, 17, will proudly represent the town on Friday, February 14 against 22 other hopefuls.

Hollie-Jane, who is studying English, French and maths in her A-levels at Wath Comprehensive, has never entered a beauty pageant before.

Held at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield, the winner of Miss South Yorkshire will seal a place in the finals of Miss England in the summer.

Mum Jane said: "Hollie-Jane is a little nervous as it's all new to her but she's a confident girl having danced for years.

"It'd be great if we can put Barnsley on the beauty map by having a local girl crowned Miss South Yorkshire and go through to the finals of Miss England!"

Congratulations! But do you realise that modelling is a vacuous position, where you are paid to excite the bodily insecurities of other people, just so they will spend their money? It's not a good thing really hun. Helping others will bring you more than just helping yourself :)
