Appeal For Info After Barnsley Baby Grave Damaged

Police in Barnsley are appealing for information after the grave of a baby boy was allegedly damaged in Carlton Cemetery on Wood Lane.

It is believed some time between Sunday, 17 July and Wednesday, 20 July, the grave of one-year-old Zak John Walton had one solar light, one lantern and one stone angel damaged. There is also a small chip in the gravestone, which is believed to be connected to this incident.

The gravestone next to Zak’s grave also received damage including two solar lights being left broken.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or has information to ccontact South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 ask for Barnsley Intelligence and quote BX number: BX / 96 /2011.
